Chanukah in "Santa Monica" aka anywhere,USA

It's actually the second night of Chanukah but I was out all day yesterday and wasn't in the mood to cook, but tonight's fare is Potato Latkes(pancakes). I just taste tested 1 because Chuck isn't home yet... and they are GOOD. You really can't go too wrong with frying potatoes.
At some point, we will be visiting Ali,Shaz and Baby Natalie and when we do, I'll make them again and we'll invite Henry for perhaps his first contiguous Chanukah.
I like mine with applesauce and Chuck was brought up with eating them with sour cream. I anticipate this topic of accompaniment will comprise our conversation. A prayer over the menorah candle lighting and a tidge of Manischewitz with a prayer and we're good to go.
I just ordered one of my presents today so I will show Chuck a picture what he got me, and he will open his second gift, Hugh Johnson's 2008 Pocket Wine Book. His present last night was a new golf club.
Happy Chanukah to all, and a good evening!

Happy Chanukah! I got the menorah out even though Henry is not here.
We're having a Bubbles for the Holidays gathering on Sunday, planning to sing carols, but maybe we'll have latkes too. I love latkes with applesause AND sour cream, but then I am non-contiguous.

I don't know what "a Bubbles" is...a non-contiguous event perhaps??

It is our little Champagne group,Bubbles for Bucks, where we get together to drink Champagne and justify it by giving a collective charitable contribution to a local good cause. Have been too busy lately to do them, but a friend wanted to give charitable contributions instead of well-intentioned but probably unneeded gifts for the holidays when so many people have real needs. So we're having a special Bubbles for the Holidays. Any excuse for a nice glass of bubbly. You are all invited, I think there will be caroling as well. Probably after the Champagne. Sunday, 5:30 ish. Our house. Latkes. Champagne. Good deeds. Good friends.
